Using the Duration List to create a Color-Coordinated Listing of Plaintiff/Defense Video Designations
- You have read previously how to use the Import Feature of the Transcript Review Tab to create Issue Codes, Media Clips and Text Clips with one quick import. Now if you are preparing for trial and want to get an Output of the Video Clips that will be played for a specific witness, before in Sanction you could use the Duration List; but it would only separate it by Page:Line References, making it more cumbersome to show the difference between Plaintiff and Defense designations. Now with your Verdical Transcript Issue Codes, not only will those entries be specifically designated, but they also will be Color-Coded based upon your entries in the Transcript Review Tab.
- Once you have created both your Plaintiff and Defense Designations, you can then access the Duration List from the TOOLS selection at the top of the Screen. With the Duration List selected, you will notice that the format is quite similar to Sanction’ s original Duration list; with the only major difference now being that you can select a Rich-Text Format file (.rtf) with your specific color codes.
- Keep in mind, that like the Duration List in Sanction, Verdical’s Duration List is designed for Media Clip Segments. The Transcript Review Tab does have an Issue Report, that you can also use to create your individual Issue Codes and your Text Clip designations, but more often than not, you are primarily going to create a Duration List for the Judge or opposing counsel to represent those video selections you wish to display in Court for review.
- Once you have chosen the selections you want, you can then display the color-coordinated choices to display on your Rich-Text File. You can then save it as a Word Document, a WordPerfect Document or convert it to a PDF File for opposing counsel or the Judge.
