Summation DII files

Sanction II will import and export Summation Document Image Information (.dii) files based on the following format

@C HASIMAGE YES

@T Document ID

@D @V VolumeLabel:Path

@L Description (Summation Longname)

file1.tif

file2.tif

During a DII export, if there is no volume label for the item and the user has not selected a drive letter and root path, the @D entry will default to @D C:\.

If there is no Description for the item, the @L entry is omitted.

Note - when exporting DII files, you must have a complete document or image group. The DII file output is based on the first page of the selected group so if you have only a group of pages instead of the complete group, the export will create an invalid DII file.

Important – it is strongly recommended that all files in a given document are located in the same subdirectory prior to creating a DII export. If your document files are spread across different drives, the DII will not import correctly into Summation.

DII exports should not be done from Temp or Presentation Items folders unless the entire document has been included.

Importing DII files

Summation does not store individual IDs for each document. Therefore, Sanction II will prompt a user action message - "Iterate Page Numbering?". If the user chooses Yes, then Sanction II will attempt to determine the numbering sequence from the Document name. If the user chooses No, Sanction II will name the first page of each document the same name as the document and then add a three digit numerical suffix to the end.

Note the following 3 page document example:

Document Name - EXH09567

Iterate Pages -

EXH09567

EXH09568

EXH09569

Non-iterated -

EXH09567

EXH09567-002

EXH09567-003

Sanction II also supports DDE connections through the Summation Image Setup. See the topic Sanction II DDE for more information.
