When adding items to a case either by dragging and dropping or scanning images, Sanction II will automatically assign names to each page. In order to increment pages correctly, you must give your items a prefix and a page number format.
The prefix of an item will not change as you add items. The format determines the number of digits used to increment the item name.
Look at the following examples:
Doc Prefix - "POLREP"
Format - 000
Items created with these settings would create the following names:
POLREP001
POLREP002
POLREP003
etc.
Doc Prefix - Addendum to "
Format - 00
Items created with these settings would create the following names:
Addendum to 01
Addendum to 02
Addendum to 03
etc.
Note - if you wish to maintain a Bates numbering sequence, you must add items as a document group for each document. You cannot add multiple documents using drag and drop because there is no way for Sanction II to know when a document has ended.
When using a Bates sequence, be sure that the Group name you have entered matches what will become the first page. In our above examples, the group names would be "POLREP001" and "Addendum to 01".
Notes
Note - Since Sanction II utilizes SQL searches, avoid the "|" (pipe) character in your naming.
Also, - if you plan on using barcodes to access items, it is a good idea to use an ID naming sequence which is less than 12 characters otherwise your barcodes may be illegible.
