If you wish to replace the current IDs in a case database, the simplest method is to enter the new ID in either the Exhibit Number or Trial Exhibit number field and then use the Swap ID field function from the Special Functions menu.
If you have not entered the information into either of these fields, you may wish to use the Field Importer to fill in the information from an ASCII text delimited file. The Field Importer will use the current ID to insert new information into either the Exhibit or Trial Exhibit # field based on the ASCII text entry "Current ID|Field Import data". Case Editor
You may also use the Case Editor utility to globally replace IDs based on a delimited file. See the Topic - Replacing IDs in the Case Editor help file for information on using an Old ID / New ID ASCII text file to replace IDs.
