ID Start#

Tif creation requires the same unique ID naming conditions used when adding any item to the case. Create a valid naming prefix, ID start # and number format using these options.

The ID start# is the number used to designate the unique name of the item. This number has no relation to the actual page number (although in some cases the number may be the same).

For example, suppose you have two documents consisting of 2 pages each. If you are using a Bates number naming convention you might have the following:

First document:

DOC001 Page 1

DOC002 Page 2

Second document:

DOC003 Page 1

DOC004 Page 2

These documents and IDs consists of the prefix "DOC", the number format "000" and for the first document an ID Start of "1".

In the second document, the ID start is "3". Notice that the ID start has nothing to do with the page number; it is the incremental value which makes the ID unique.
