The output file type and Options settings determine the image file format when creating the scanned image file.
In general, select TIF and Black and White for non-color documents and the BMP and True Color for color images.
Gray Scale can be used for non-color images requiring a higher level of detail for non-text.
WARNING - because TWAIN drivers and setup can vary from machine to machine, you may have to run the TWAIN setup any time you change the file type setting and match your selection with the TWAIN controls. The scan settings are used to determine the type of file created (.tif or .bmp) and the compression used.
Failure to match settings will result in images which may not be viewable.
